Tree Seed Critical to Tree Planting Success:
Trees Ontario Wraps Up Seed Workshop Series
June 2008 – Southern Ontario - In response to an urgent need to replenish supplies of tree seed, Trees Ontario recently wrapped up a series of technical workshops across the province for its partner agencies and volunteers.
The goal of the technical workshop series was to educate individuals, help improve seed collection efficiencies, and restore tree seed inventories, across the province of Ontario.
During the workshop itself, presentations were provided by Trees Ontario Field Advisors and agency peer experts. Hands on activities, open discussion and networking opportunities allowed attendees to learn about the importance of tree seed and proper collection techniques.
Conducting regional training workshops are just one of the ways that Trees Ontario can help develop seed stock capacity for overall successful tree planting in Ontario.
