A Truly Green Wedding
Every bride and groom dreams of a truly unique and memorable wedding. Jihee Min and David Seol were no exception. As a symbol of their union, they decided on 'trees' as the theme for their special day. “We've always been thankful to have found each other and, by tying the knot, we wanted to give back to nature by planting trees,” said Jihee.
In line with their theme, the couple opted for a tree painting instead of a guestbook, a tree planting ceremony in place of cake cutting and a donation to Trees Ontario in lieu of favours.
“Each guest received little handmade notes that
mentioned our donation to Trees Ontario,” added Jihee. “Our guests were fascinated about our unique and environment-friendly wedding favour and were very happy to be a part of it.”
Trees Ontario would like to wish Jihee and David all the best on their continuing journey together and applauds them on taking a step towards a healthier and greener environment.

Favours
Recognize your special day by giving each of your guests a native tree seedling to take home and plant in their backyard. For a cost of $5 each (minimum order of 100) you can wow your guests with a tree seedling wrapped in burlap, with a Trees Ontario card and planting instructions, and your own personal message to your guests, with your choice of coloured ribbon. Half of your purchase is eligible for a tax receipt and you will be supporting Trees Ontario’s planting programs in our efforts to re-green Ontario.

In lieu of favours
If you wish do something different for your guests, make a donation on their behalf! Make a donation to plant trees in honour of your guests, in lieu of favours. Contributions made will directly support Trees Ontario’s tree planting programs, and will help save the environment, one tree at a time. Trees Ontario will provide you with cards that can be shared with your guests indicating your gift in their honour.
Donations instead of gifts
In place of traditional wedding gifts, you can request that guests make donations to Trees Ontario instead. Copy this link to your own wedding website or include it in an email to tell your guests about donation options.
